What's Good (Week of 7/2/23)

Hello! In an effort to hang out on here a little more regularly, I'm going to make my Cohost a regular home for What's Good, my weekly round-up of a healthy chunk of music that came out. I'd started doing these over on my Tumblr, I think this'll be a better medium for them.

The TLDR spiel? When I was in college I had a radio program that was a showcase for the Hip Hop format I was building there called "What's Good" and this is an extension of that. No specific genre though. While it'll usually be pretty rap heavy, never be surprised to see pop, metal, hardcore, jazz, and everything under the sun to make it here. Also, no extended blurbs or criticism. Just videos or sound players, and links where to go make a purchase. Without any further jibber-jabber, here's What's Good for this week.

That about does it for the new tunes this week, but before I let y'all get on with your weekend, two more bits of business:

Madi from Year Of The Knife is stable after the band's terrible car accident last week, but the band could still use your support. Check out their Gofundme and give if you can.

SeasideFM - Twitch
US-based vinyl collector (she/her) specializing in Japanese City Pop & Japanese Jazz/Jazz Fusion - Wednesday (Jazzy Vibes), Friday (Japanese City Pop). I also spin Brazilian grooves. Turn on notifs for pop-ups! All vinyl, all good vibes, all the time 😎 ✌️

Do you like Japanese City Pop? Jazz Fusion? Brazilian tunes? Good vibes? Come fuck with SeasideFM and their wonderful community over on Twitch every Tuesday and Thursday. I'm not sure how I stumbled onto the channel, but they've been an absolute godsend during my workdays just to listen to in the background, and the vibes when I actually get to hang out in chat or their Discord channel are absolutely lovely. If you can't tune in live, be sure to follow them on their socials for playlists, but when you can come through, be sure to tell 'em that DJ Regular sent you.

That's all for this edition, friends. As always, make good choices.
