The year before D'Angelo & The Vanguard would release Black Messiah, D'Angelo and Questlove did a couple of jam session live performances of just keys and drums. The set was mostly soul and funk covers, peppered with a few joints from D's own catalog, including "Really Love" for the yet to be released masterpiece. Shortly after their performance at Brooklyn Bowl, FWMJ put up a free Bandcamp download for the set, and as I was putting together yesterday's What's Good I remembered I still had the files. Rather than bundle them up with my postscript, I figured I'd give them their own room. Enjoy.
