My Stuff: TTRPG Edition

The cover of TTRPG, Shoot The Gift. Full alt-text in the blog below.

Having a bit of a "wtf do I even matter for" moment, so let's do some inventory on the TTRPG stuff that I have. I'll bust it down between 'Purchasable/Playable' and 'Testable'. If you want to holler at me about any of this stuff, hit me up @djregular in all the places.

Purchasable/Playable

The cover of Shoot The Gift. Images from left to right: An yellow-tinted image of a spray paint can, a blue-tinted image of a sampler/drum machine, a green-tinted image of Adidas sneakers, a red-tinted notepad
Name: Shoot The Gift
System: AGON
RIYL (Recommended if you like): YA fiction in dystopias, Hip Hop, stories with road trips.
Where to cop: Itch.io
The deal: The first thing of mine I made available to purchase, a playset for the AGON RPG. Players are bunch of kids that have been imbued with reality warping abilities via the power of Hip Hop in a future dystopia where corporations rule the day.

Play This Only At Night - A Shoot The Gift Story by Ronald Nealy
Name: Play This Only At Night
System: Interactive Fiction (built in Ink)
RIYL (Recommended if you like): All the same stuff as Shoot The Gift, Choose Your Own Adventure books, J. Dilla, The Jimmy Castor Bunch, the Pharcyde.
Where to cop: Itch.io
The deal: My interactive fiction companion to Shoot The Gift. Free to play and very short, it's meant to give you a glimpse into the world.

The cover of Lightworkers. A green-tinted night sky full of falling and streaking stars above a grassland
Name: Lightworkers
System: Ever In Her Sight
RIYL (Recommended if you like): Space-westerns (Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Trigun), a disdain for capitalism, tarot reading, music from/inspired by the LA beat scene and their inspirations (playlists here: TIDAL | Spotify).
Where to cop: Itch.io
The deal: Written as part of ZineQuest, Lightworkers a hack of Nora Jury-Last's Ever In Her Sight, a collaborative storytelling game using tarot cards. You're all a bunch of Lightworkers (bounty hunters, smugglers, "conflict specialists") that take jobs for various factions in a starbound future. The first TTRPG anyone ever paid me for, so I'm especially proud of it.

Comrade: The Allegiance cover image. The title over a black and white image of roses growing along a brick wall.
Name: Comrade: The Allegiance
System: Illuminated by LUMEN
RIYL (Recommended if you like): Beat-em-up video games (for example: Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Alien vs. Predator, Knights of the Round), Enemies-To-Allies, collective action, Hardcore and Hip Hop DIY music scenes (Playlists Available Here: Tidal | YouTube), dark urban fantasy.
Where to cop: Itch.io
The deal: My Illuminated by Lumen game of the power of collective action (and violence). Players are different sorts of creatures (and humans) that go bump in the night, forced to band together to defend their home. This is technically testable as I didn't put it through its full paces in order to get it in under the wire for a Lumen game jam, but it's basically done. If/when I revisit it, the bulk of the work will be on beefing up its visual presentation.

Motor City Shakedown cover image. An image of the Detroit skyline at night with the words 'Motor City Shakedown' in black over a purple banner underneath.
Name: Motor City Shakedown - A 'Feng Shui: Kakurega' Adventure
System: Feng Shui 2
RIYL (Recommended if you like): Action films (specifically those inspired by Southeast Asian action films of the 80s and 90s), the John Wick franchise, crime-dramas, Elmore Leonard novels.
Where to cop: Gdrive
The deal: A one-shot adventure for my John Wick and crime-drama inspired Feng Shui setting Kakurega. A group of thieves, killers, and ne'er-do-wells for hire is invited to Detroit to participate in a high-stakes auction. The prize? A diamond that grants its owner immense power. Use the Feng Shui: Kakurega - Motor City Shakdown Archetype Pack for your players, and let me know what you think.

Testable

More Than Human cover image. A dark-skinned masc-presenting person, floating in mid-air. Below this image in white text on a black background: 'More Than Human - Rules & Case File by Ronald Nealy
Name: More Than Human: A superhero roleplaying game.
System: Cortex Prime
RIYL (Recommended if you like): Superhero stories (obv.), Powers (the comic book), The Wire, Criminal, crime-drama, investigator/detective fiction.
Where to cop: The playtest materials are on the More Than Human website
The deal: My WIP baby, a Cortex Prime love letter to the well-worn idea of "superheroes in the real world." People with extra-ordinary abilities begin appearing all over the world, and the only tie that binds them is their overwhelming drive to do good. What do they do in a world that largely doesn't want them? Check out the More Than Human website for information on the world itself. Out of everything here, this is what I'm most precious about. I want this to be the best game it can be, and I have a ton of ideas for the world itself that I'd love to explore someday.

In A Red Valley - A Cortex Prime Setting by Ronald Nealy
Name: In A Red Valley
System: Cortex Prime
RIYL (Recommended if you like): Heavy metal, Hardcore and other aggressive music (Playlists Available Here: Tidal | YouTube), horror films (Near Dark, Southbound, Evil Dead franchise, Mandy), Enemies-to-Allies, late night radio like Coast-to-Coast w/Art Bell, Devil May Cry.
Where to cop: These links could self-destruct, so contact me if you miss them and really want to check it out:

The deal: My WIP tribute to the American Southwest, splatterhousery horror movies, aggressive music, and cosmic horror that's not indebted to a maladjusted racist. A malevolent entity from beyond the stars touches down in the Mojave Desert and declares itself king of the hill among the denizens of the supernatural here on earth. The only thing standing in its way? A motley band of hunters, supernatural creature that've thrown themselves in with humanity, and survivors of the initial calamity looking for revenge. This is a sibling game to Comrade: The Allegiance (think of this as the West Coast to its East Coast).

More than I thought. Dunno what that's worth, but I feel a little better.
